Join us for Remember When . . . Hands On History on Thursday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Society Carriage House (465 S. Portage Path, Akron). Dave Gates will present a PowerPoint presentation about the history of the Ohio & Erie Canal here in the Akron area. Hear about the construction of the canal, its locks and some of the people who used this form of transportaton until the Great Flood of 1913.
Historic artifacts will also be featured and we would love to hear about your current experiences growing up by the canal.
