Akron Bicentennial Photos

The Summit County Historical Society of Akron, OH, was formed in 1924 by seven women of the Cuyahoga-Portage Chapter of the DAR for the the purpose of planning for Akron's Centennial of 1925. Society staff and volunteers maintain storage and protection of three-dimensional artifacts on the Society's properties.

They are on display at the Perkins Stone Mansion and in exhibits throughout the county. Collections include fine art, local pottery, rubber industry materials, Akron and Summit County industrial wares, and cultural memorabilia.
