S. Victor Fleischer, University Archivist and Head, Archival Services , Associate Professor of Bibliography at The University of Akron , will be giving a talk about his newest book, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company: A Pictorial History, 1898-1951, under the tent on the grounds of the Perkins Stone Mansion.
The book includes over 200 rare and visually stunning historic photographs from the collection, many which have never been published before. Vic will share some of these images and behind the scenes stories as part of his talk that will start at 1:30 p.m. He will stay on the grounds until 3 p.m. to sign books.
After the talk, Vic will sign copies of the publication. Attendees may purchase the book on site at the Society's Mutton Hill Gift Shop. For this event, Society members may purchase the book for $30 and non members for $40. The book list price is $50.
There is no charge to attend this book talk and signing, but masks are required and social distancing will be encouraged. This event will take place rain or shine. It will occur under the tent so guests will be protected from the weather.
