The Summit County Historical Society of Akron, OH celebrates its 99th annual meeting with Chairman Emeritus Dave Lieberth sharing "A Romance on Perkins Hill: The Great Gatsby Era in Akron" highlighting the John S. and Katherine Knight family and their neighbors as the evening program at 7:15 p.m.
Step back in time to "The Roaring 20s" impacting home, family, the arts, industry, architecture and fashion. You will be spellbound by the riveting information and the imagery shared through pictures and spoken word! Dave Lieberth researched and wrote this program with funding courtesy of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
The event will start with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. Society business meeting to elect new officers and board directors. A buffet dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. including a plated beet salad with blue cheese on the side, walnuts, oranges and raspberry vinaigrette dressing, sliders bar of shredded chicken, bbq pulled pork & vegetarian sloppy joe (gluten buns available), fruit salad, cole slaw, macaroni & cheese and German chocolate cake for dessert (gluten option available).
The cost is $45 per person or $80 per couple. Reservations are required.
